It is necessary to act now and start developing the next generation biochips and other diagnosis technologies enabled by nanostructures. With the development of surface plasmon, we can design nano lasers to focus light tightly in the scale of less than a thousandth of a human hair. We will develop practical manufacturing approaches to produce and integrate nano-chip devices for low cost and high-speed automatic disease diagnosis.
